Wanted: Cancer Cowboy

If you didn't already know it, Douglas Coupland is hands down my favourite contemporary author. If you haven't read him, you're missing out. If you have, you know what I'm talking about. CBC Television took quite the task on and decided to take his second most recent novel, jPOD, and make it into a television series - ticklish business any way you look at it...especially since we all know how good Canadian TV shows tend to be (insert exaggerated eyeroll here).

Being the Coupland supporters/enthusiasts that we are, Carolyn and I made a date to watch the premiere this evening - even though we feared the worst... HOWEVER, I am happy to report that we were pleasantly surprised! jPOD is actually quite clever and sharp, and the actors don't make me want to grab the nearest razorblade and end it all. Good work CBC!

Thus, Tuesday night is now officially our jPOD date night. (Oh the small things we hard-working students have to look forward to)...

(on that note, I should mention that school so far is GREAT - although I fear many of my classmates may drive me to drink...the teachers are amazing and I think this is just the kick in the ass I need to finally get my act together, musically. Hooray!)
