Skinny Bitch.

I picked up this book at Chapters yesterday, as I've been trying to exercise and eat healthy lately, and thought this book might be funny and helpful. Little did I know it was a book about veganism. The first few chapters were entertaining enough, referring to Soda as "Liquid Satan" and talking about the evils of refined sugars. Then I got to chapter 4 "The Dead, Rotting, Decomposing Flesh Diet" and began reading about the horrible things that go into meat production. By the time I had read Chapter 5 "You are What you Eat" a horrifying picture of the meat industry, including quotes from slaughterhouse workers, I began to feel physically ill. We know that the meat industry is bad - but do we REALLY know? I'd always turned a blind eye to it...and eaten meat almost every day - McDonalds, Taco Bell, you name it. After reading this book I can't even stomach the thought of eating it.
Presto! I'm a Vegetarian.
Never thought it would be me - but I feel really good about it.

I will never preach - I hate Vegans/Vegetarians that preach and make people feel bad about themselves. All I will say, is if you want to continue to enjoy meat, stear clear of this book. It is misleading with it's title - this is no diet book. If you're curious, it's a great read.

This is awesome! It's great to hear that your new knowledge has inspired you to action. Even if it did sneak up behind you and take you by surprise. Yay for carcass free living!
