SUMMER IS HERE - and I'm a happy happy camper.
A while back I received an AMAZING package in the mail via my friends at matchstick.ca:

I may or may not have squealed when I unwrapped it. This beautiful black case came filled to the brim with Maybelline makeup, including the gorgeous shadows and liners from the new EyeStudio line.
Now I'm generally a big M.A.C girl - but these shadows are brilliant - they go on smooth and vibrant, and although they have a creamy consistency, they don't gather in creases like most cream-based makeup.
Below are some shots of my experiments with the line. Sadly the webcam pics don't do justice to the vibrancy...



As usual - Maybelline are on top of the mascara game. A loyal user of their classic GreatLash mascara (you know the pink and green tube), I was excited to try the four (yes FOUR) mascaras that came in this kit. Needless to say I'm in love. The extensions and curling ones are amazing.

Well done, Maybelline. I am officially converted. Love these products.

More to come this summer - I've decided it is the Summer of love and it will be full of road trips, music, sunshine and fabulous friends old and new!

The beagle has been dubbed JASPER. Thanks for your suggestions, they were all wonderful - but you know how it is, sometimes a great name just doesn't fit the personality!

I'm browsing olllldddd journal entries (if you go to the very first post in this blog you'll find a link to my old livejournal, and in the last post on that you'll find an archive of my old myspace musings as well)... it's very strange how vividly you remember some things... and how others fade.

I've made the decision that this is going to be an EXCELLENT summer, and I refuse to be told otherwise. First road-trip is in just over a week, my dear partner in crime Britt and I are off to Buffalo (glamourous, I know) to see Alberta Cross on a Thursday and then see where the rest of the weekend takes us... then Lollapalooza in August - and hopefully several weekend jaunts in the interim. It's going to be a summer to remember. I can't wait.

Wheee! I wore a skirt today - for the first time in a bazillion years! Bare legging it for the first time in 2009 feels so damn good. I must invest in more dresses.
Warm weather makes me moderately... dare I say it? HAPPY?!

Another thing that makes me happy is the Lollapalooza lineup. Finally a festival I can attend! 2009 shall not be a waste after all. I'm going to drive down to Chicago with a girlfriend or two, blaring 70's rock and roll the entire way - classic road trip. I cannot wait. LOU EFFING REED is playing!

I suppose this means I have to start working on the "bikini bod" again... I hate eating properly. Why can't a balanced vegetarian diet consist of cheese pizza and Coca Cola? I don't get it. Perhaps I never will. I have zero will power. As my darling Oscar Wilde says "I can resist everything except temptation." The man was wise.

One thing that DOES NOT make me happy is the lack of special features on The Wrestler DVD. According to the packaging the ONLY special feature is the Bruce Springsteen music video... THAT'S IT!??!?! Not even a theatrical trailer? Or an interview with Mickey?
